St Michael’s House Visitors

On Friday children from St.Michael’s House came to visit. We welcomed them into our classroom. We made coloured leaves and wrote our names on them. After a very nice treat of biscuits and orange juice, we played ball and chasing in the school yard. we all look forward to meeting them again very soon.

Activities: Zip it school tour 2016

May 2016

What a fabulous day today. The 2 third classes went to Tibradden to the Zipit  Forest Adventure. The boys had the opportunity to climb into the treetops, swing into cargo nets, fly down the zip lines and somehow have time to eat their lunch. We were there for 4 hours and the boys did not want to leave. Even the teachers had a quick go but luckily there are no photographs to prove this!! Highly recommend this day out to all the family.

Activities: Sow and Grow

April 2016

This year Form 3 are involved in the “Sow and Grow” project with Innocent Drinks. We received our package after Easter which contained soil, seeds, cups and lesson plans. We are really looking forward to growing our own vegetables, measuring their growth, eating them and hopefully winning some prizes for our school garden at the same time. You can check out our diaries on the Sow and Grow website.

Activities: Irish Military War Museum

March 2016

What a wonderful day we had at the museum. Firstly we all had a chance to climb into a tank. We had to wear hard helmets to protect our heads. We marched down to the trenches where we listened to William explain all about the soldiers in the trenches. He even let our teachers fire 2 rifles. They were very loud.

After lunch we had a talk about the Battle of the Somme and a visit into the museum and all the tanks, guns, soldiers, bikes and lots more.

Activities: iPad Time

February 2016

Our iPad lesson this week was all about Ireland, we used the app “Know your Ireland”. We investigated the mountains, rivers, provinces, counties and towns. At the end we played the quiz. It was great fun.
